NYE Look

I can’t believe the New Year is approaching! A new year is a time to reflect on the previous year and write down all of your resolutions. It’s a fresh start really. The new year is a chance to do all the things you’ve always wanted to do. New Year’s Eve celebrations are always associated with glitter, and extravagant things, which is why I am writing this post, to share my top look for NYE. Although, I will be home having a pajama party with my family lol, if I were to go out, this is what I’d wear. In this post, I am going to talk about the whole look, from hair, makeup and my outfit. I love this look, and might actually wear this for my birthday!

Hair & Makeup

For this makeup look, I used the Super Fun Night palette in the Too Faced Best Year Ever gift set. This was a special holiday gift set, and will no longer be available. I linked it so you can follow along with the shadows. I received this as a gift, and I am in love with this gift set. Super affordable and you get 3 eyeshadow palettes and a travel mascara all for the price of one item basically! What a steal! Anyway, starting with my face I followed the same routine as in my Everyday Makeup Routine. For my eyeshadow using the palette mentioned above I used the color “Oh What Fun” as my all over lid and transition color because it is a light bronze color. For the outer v corner of my eye I used the darkest color in the palette “No Peeking” it’s a dark grey/navy color. I applied it lightly so it wasn’t super harsh. For the middle of my lid (you can see what I’m talking about in the picture above), I used the colors “Tipsy” and “Sleighhh Girl.” Tipsy is a copper brown shimmer, and Sleighhh Girl is a light grey shimmer. I blended them into the dark “No Peeking” color to make the eye look softer. Lastly, for my inner corner I used the color “Cozy Cashmere” which is a soft light pink and then “Lucky Star” in my tear duct which is a white iridescent shimmer color. For my bottom lash line I used the color “No Peeking” in place of an eyeliner and then I finished off my eyes with my Benefit Cosmetics – They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara. For my lips, I wanted a metallic color to bring out the gold accessories so I went with my all time fav NARS – Lipstick (Sexual Healing) it’s a gorgeous peachy rose color. That’s all for my makeup!

Moving on to hair, I recently cut my hair and have been playing around with different styles. Due to the length it is very easy to flip it and part it wherever I want, so I flipped my part over to the end of my eyebrow for this look. Whenever I do this, it gives my hair so much volume. I then sprayed some texture spray and sea salt spray in to give it a messy kind’ve “slept in” look.

Outfit

I am absolutely in love with this look. It’s super comfortable and not overly dressy. This Velvet Wide-Leg Jumpsuit is super inexpensive, only $28 from Old Navy! How amazing is that price?! In a store like Nordstrom for example, a jumpsuit like this would probably be close to $100 or $200! This is an awesome dupe for one of those and is really great quality. For an outfit you’ll only wear a few times, I think finding a cheaper option like this is the way to go. I honestly love this jumpsuit. It has adjustable straps and is a wide-leg cut, causing the jumpsuit to be cropped or like a palazzo. It also has pockets and is super flattering and comfortable. The only complaint is that it does not run true to size. I am a true medium and am wearing a small in this! It runs big, so make sure to try it on in the store or order 2 sizes and return the other that doesn’t fit! For accessories I went with all gold. This necklace is absolutely gorgeous. I received it for Christmas from my brother. It’s an Alex and Ani expandable necklace called Cosmic Balance. For bracelets, I did my every gold ones + a Michael Kors one and Alex and Ani bangle. I chose to wear a Gucci belt because I think it automatically adds some extra style to the look and they’re super trendy. The gold hardware is just gorgeous on this belt. For shoes, of course I did some gold heels. I think doing all gold accessories made the black velvet really pop, but also toned it down a bit.

I hope this post helped give you an idea for a super comfortable and trendy look for NYE! This jumpsuit is my favorite purchase in a while. It’s gorgeous, comfortable, flattening and inexpensive! What more could I want? I hope you all enjoyed this! Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!
