Fourth of July Desserts

What’s any holiday without dessert??? A horror…

In my opinion, dessert is always the center of any party. My favorite thing about holidays is that you can make the cutest, most festive desserts! In this post, I am going to share the 2 desserts I made for a Fourth of July BBQ! Enough chatting, let’s get into the deliciousness!

American Flag Fruit Trays

What You’ll Need:

  • Red, white, or blue trays
  • Small cup
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Cherries
  • White yogurt covered pretzels

This is the fruit I used to create my American Flag, but feel free to substitute for others. Just stay within red, white, and blue colors. You can swap out the white yogurt pretzels for bananas as the white part!

What To Do:

  1. Wash all your fruit, trays and the small cup.
  2. Take some blueberries and place them into the small cup.
  3. Place the small cup on the top left corner of the tray. (this will represent the blue part of the flag)
  4. Then take which ever red fruit you want to start with, (I started with cherries) and create a line from the small cup of blueberries to the other end of the tray.
  5. Next is the white part, take the white yogurt pretzels and like the cherries, create a line from beginning to end.
  6. Do this alternating red and white until you reach the bottom of the tray.
  7. Apply these steps to the second tray as well.

Red, White, and Blue Funfetti Cupcakes

What You’ll Need:

  • Box of red, white, and blue funfetti cake mix & ingredients to make
  • Red, white and blue funfetti icing
  • Cupcake liners
  • Cupcake baking pans
  • Mixing bowl
  • Ice-cream scooper
  • Whisk
  • Cupcake holder or tray

What To Do:

  1. Place cupcake liners into cupcake baking pans.
  2. Read instructions on back of cake mix and follow until ready to cook.
    • Heat oven to 350 Degrees
    • Pour cake mix into mixing bowl.
    • Add in 3 eggs, 1 cup water & 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • Whisk until completely mixed.
  3. Once you have made the mix, take your ice-cream scooper and add in one scoop into each cupcake liner.
  4. Place cupcakes in oven for 10-15 minutes or until tops are golden.
  5. Let cool before icing.
  6. Take the red, white, and blue funfetti icing and ice the cupcakes.

I started this blog in January of 2017 so that I can share the things I love and have a place for my passion of writing. Theresa Marie Daily (TMD), is a place of comfort, where you can come for recipes, beauty tips/favorites, see my personal style, fashion tips, lifestyle tips/tricks, diys, and other miscellaneous posts. I have a category called “Talks With Theresa Marie” (TWTM), where each month, I post about an occurring issue, or something random that I just feel like talking about, and I give my opinion/view on it. TWTM, gives you a personal insight on who I am and my beliefs/opinions on certain things. I hope to inspire each and every one of you to go outside the box with your food, lifestyle and personal style, and just enjoy life. Thank you so much for following along and reading!
