You’re probably reading the title of this post and wondering “why wouldn’t that be okay Theresa?” Well, the answer to that is, because change can be scary, even if it’s as small as your style changing. For most people, especially if involved in the fashion world, your style changes many times throughout your life. Not every trend will catch your eye, but inevitably your style will most likely change at some point during your life.
I noticed this change in my style fairly recent. I was cleaning out my closet mid-June and realized, a lot of the pieces I was getting rid of were only worn a few times, or honestly never. They were cute, but I just wasn’t into them anymore. Even during shopping, I find myself gravitating towards a more edgy style. Edgy, but still girly.
Being in the blogger world has definitely changed my view of trends, and personal style. When I was younger, I used to think I had to follow every trend just to be cool, and it made me not be my true self. The world doesn’t care if you aren’t following a certain trend. That’s why it’s called personal style, because it’s personal to you.
Some trends I have fallen for, and some I haven’t. I love mixing trends as well, or putting my own spin on a piece of clothing. Fashion is fun and supposed to be an expression of who you are. We change many times over the course of life even when we don’t realize it, so naturally our style will change too.
I’ve grown to love expressing myself through fashion more and more each day. It can be terrifying, especially if your style is judged, but at the end of the day, only your opinion of you matters.
Side note: How cute are these Halloween pumpkins from Target???? Also I was drinking a Venti Iced Chai Tea Latte with 2 pumps of Pumpkin Spice!
