Most of us, if not all are so used to doing things for others that we forget we must take care of ourselves too! Taking care of yourself mentally and physically is super important! Doing little things everyday, every week or just once a month for you will be very beneficial in the long run! When you do things for yourself you feel happier, alive, more awake, etc. You just feel really good.
I’ve put together a few tips on things you can do to make yourself feel good. These are not just for those who are down. These tips can be for those who are already happy about them. I want everyone who reads this post to take these tips into consideration, because I promise they will help you feel good. You will feel less stressed and much happier. Let’s begin!
Change up your look
Now of course not everyone is going to do this one. Some people are fine with keeping their look (hair color and or fashion wise) but me no. I like to constantly change up my look and go outside the box. I’ve dyed my hair about 5 times within probably 2 years, just experimenting with colors. It’s so fun to change up your hair color or style. I also chopped 10 inches off my hair after my HS prom. Changing up your hairstyle/color is such a freeing feeling. You feel like you can conquer the world. Besides changing up your hair, you can change up your fashion style. It’s always so much fun to go into stores and try on all the clothes you normally wouldn’t buy. It gives you a huge confidence boost. I find that doing this, gives me great happiness and positivity through out the day! Buy the things you normally wouldn’t and experiment with your fashion!
Drink your morning coffee/tea outside
Now obviously you can only do this if it is nice outside, but if it is do it. I don’t know what it is, but whenever I do this I feel so much happier and know I am going to have a great day. It’s a nice refreshing start to your morning especially if you do it right when you wake up.
Have a dance party
With yourself. Yes I said with yourself! This is actually so much fun and can really improve your mood. If you’re with friends/family and decide to do this it’s just as fun! It’ll be like a scene from Grey’s Anatomy. I actually have dance parties a lot by myself lol especially when I’m getting ready for an event. It’s a lot of fun and will get your mood elevated. Try it out!
Learn something new
Learning something new is always so much fun, well not always fun in the beginning. Learning something new whatever it may be will boost your confidence especially after you’ve learned it! You’ll be so excited that you can do or know something new that you’ll be smiling for days!
Go to a spa
Grab your gals, mom, sisters, aunts, or just yourself and go to a spa. It can be a spa weekend, day spa, or just a 30-minute spa trip just do it! Spa = relaxation. Chances are you’re super stressed out and are forgetting to take care of yourself which adds more stress on you physically, and emotionally. Go to a spa, get a facial, get a massage, etc. It will relieve your stress and make you feel so good. Can’t afford the spa? I’ve got you covered… my friends and I are always having little “spa nights.” They’re so much fun! We’ll do each other’s nails, hair, drink wine and do face masks. Sometimes we’ll even put cucumbers on our eyes for the full effect lol. The best face masks I’ve ever used are from Freeman Beauty! They sell little individual packets which are the perfect size for 2 people to share or you can buy the full sized bottles! They’re super inexpensive and are amazing I promise!
