Easter Treats

Easter is my favorite holiday, maybe even more than Christmas! If you don’t know I am Catholic so Easter is a big deal to me. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always loved Easter! The candy, eggs, chocolates, and bunnies are all so amazing. Who doesn’t love bunnies’ right!! As I’ve gotten older, I realized obviously Easter is more than just bunnies. Easter is such an important holiday. On Easter I always feel very joyful, spiritual and safe. I can I guess sense or feel Jesus’ presence around. I just feel very close to him on Easter and it’s amazing.

Although Easter isn’t just about the bunnies and colored eggs, from a food point of view it is! Here are the treats I made for Easter! I hope you enjoy!🐰🐣🌸🥚🍪🍰

Pastel M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies🍪

What You’ll Need:

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
  • Pastel Easter M&Ms (regular and peanut)
  • Nonstick Reynolds’s Wrap
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Knife to cut cookie dough

What To Do:

I separated my peanut m&m cookies and regular m&m cookies by using two different cookie sheets.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place nonstick Reynolds wrap onto cookie sheets.
  • Cut open cookie dough package.
  • Cut dough.
  • Add in m&ms (as many as you want in a cookie).
  • Mix the dough and m&ms into a ball.
  • Place onto cookie sheets with a good amount apart.
  • Place in oven for 10-15 minutes (I usually just check them until I see they’re done).
  • Let cool.
  • Enjoy!

Colorful Pastel Marshmallow Bark🍥

What You’ll Need:

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

  • 1 bag white chocolate chips (11 or 12 oz)
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • Sprinkles
  • 1 TBSP shortening (optional, but it helps I use Crisco)
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Parchment Paper/ Nonstick Reynolds’s Wrap (works the same)

  • Line a small cookie sheet with parchment paper or nonstick Reynolds wrap.
  • Measure out 3 cups of marshmallows and place into a big mixing bowl.
  • Melt chocolate in the microwave and shortening for 1 minute. (Stirring each time do 30-second increments. May need to do for longer depending on strength of microwave.)
  • After chocolate is melted, add to the marshmallows and stir to coat. (You want to do this quickly so it coats well and to be sure the marshmallows don’t melt!)
  • While stirring together add in sprinkles.
  • Transfer the chocolate marshmallows to the pan. (you want the marshmallows to be all connected and not separated when they cool)
  • For extra fun, throw on some more sprinkles!
  • Put in the freezer for the chocolate to set. (better in the freezer than fridge because it will cool quicker so the marshmallows don’t melt.)
  • Remove from freezer when you want to eat them.
  • Enjoy!

* I kept mine in the freezer to keep the chocolate hard*

Cupcakes:

I am making two different designs of cupcakes (24 cupcakes = 12 each design)

What You’ll Need:

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

  • Cupcake Mix (I used Betty Crocker White)
  • Ingredients from Mix:
    • 1 ¼ cup of water
    • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
    • 3 eggs
  • Cupcake liners (I used Easter ones)
  • Vanilla frosting
  • Green colored vanilla frosting
  • Big marshmallows
  • Pink and green glitter sprinkles
  • Yellow peeps
  • Cupcake pans
  • Ice cream scooper
  • Easter Candy (I used chocolate eggs)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cup
  • Whisk

What To Do:

  • Line cupcake pans with cupcake liners.
  • Follow instructions on cupcake box to mix ingredients.
  • Take ice cream scooper and begin pouring batter into cupcake liners.
  • If enough left over you can add in another scoop to each. (I usually add in 2 scoops each)
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden (check every few minutes to prevent burning).
  • Let cool for 5 – 10 minutes.
  • Separate 12 and 12 cupcakes for designs.

Candy Peeps Cupcakes🐥

  • Once cooled take the first 12 cupcakes and a tiny icecream or cookie scooper and take out (a little bit of) the center of the cupcake.
  • Fill center with your desired candy choice (I used chocolate eggs).
  • Put center back ontop.
  • Frost your cupcakes with green vanilla icing (doesn’t have to be perfect because of topper).
  • Pour some green glitter sprinkles on top.
  • Place a yellow peep on top, middle of cupcake.
  • Enjoy!

Bunny Ears Cupcakes🐰

  • Once cooled take the second batch of 12 cupcakes.
  • Take your big marshmallows and cut 12 of them in half diagonally (these will become the ears).
  • Place pink glitter sprinkles into a plate.
  • Dip the sticky side of the marshmallow into the pink sprinkles.
  • Frost your cupcakes with vanilla frosting.
  • Place the “bunny ears” on top, middle of cupcakes.
  • Enjoy!
